Haley Longo:

She was raised in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. During her free time, she loves being outdoors, traveling and going to concerts.

IPA Involvement: During the past month she has been involved in organizing Legislative day and the IPA Annual Convention as well as updating the website and sending out the bi-weekly Intouch.
Future Plans: After graduation Haley will be moving to Chicago to complete a first-year pharmacy residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She is excited about the opportunity to continue to grow as a clinical pharmacist.

Matt Thornley:

Bio: Matt is a P4 PharmD student at Butler University, due to graduate in May of this year. Originally from Cincinnati, Matt made his way to Indianapolis for pharmacy school where he has found a new home in Zionsville. He is currently with us on his 11th rotation – previous experiences for him in the city have included pharmacy practices such as surgery, infectious disease, oncology, and even medical staffing at a diabetes camp. During his free time, he likes to listen to and play music, play hockey and golf, compete in chess, and tour various breweries in the city.

IPA Involvement:  Matt spent the month of March operating the social media profiles and IPA website. Additionally, Matt contributed by helping put together the 2019 Annual Convention program and agenda. Throughout the month with the IPA, Matt developed many different leadership skills that he plans to take with him in the future.

Future Plans: From Matt’s experience with various facilities on rotations, he plans to work somewhere in the Indianapolis area. Matt has found a strong passion with impacting medicine on a large scale, where he eventually hopes to find a job in the pharmaceutical industry.

Katie Coffman:

Bio: Katie is a PharmD Candidate from Purdue University with past clinical rotations throughout Indianapolis including IU Health Methodist Hospital, Eskenazi Health, and an underserved community clinic in her hometown. Originally from Westfield, Indiana, she has enjoyed being able to spend more time at home this year with her Chihuahua, Paco. During her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, and recently took a trip to Denver, CO to hike the Flatirons. She has spent the year exploring Indianapolis and has enjoyed trying new local restaurants, catching live music, and finding places to watch soccer, her favorite sport.

IPA Involvement: Currently on rotation with Randy Hitchens, Katie is working collaboratively with her fellow students and the IPA staff to prepare for the upcoming IPA Legislative Day and the 2019 IPA Annual Convention and Exposition. At the moment, she is focusing on the operation and integration of the various platforms that will be used throughout the convention, as well as managing ACPE accreditation and administrative requirements for each of the presentations held throughout the convention.
Future Plans: After her month at IPA, Katie will finish up her year of clinical rotations with a compounding rotation within the IU Health Network. Following graduation, Katie plans to pursue a PGY1 residency or enter the field of non-traditional pharmacy. She hopes to stay in Indianapolis, and looks forward to a career as an enthusiastic and engaged pharmacist.
