Meet our January 2020 IPA Rotation Student
My name is Caitlyn Curry and I am a P4 student at Purdue University College of Pharmacy on rotation with Indiana Pharmacists Association this January. I knew pharmacy was the career path I wanted to pursue when I was in middle school and I spent a lot of time in the hospital with my step father. He was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 41. I was able to witness the work of many different health care providers and it was evident just how much they cared and took extra time out of their day to make him comfortable and answer our questions. This was also when I first learned about targeted genome-based cancer therapy, and it all greatly intrigued me. My step father has since passed, but his memory lives on in the passion that was placed in my heart to pursue a career in health care. I look forward to a rewarding career in the ever-changing field of pharmacy.
I am truly thankful for my time with IPA this month. This rotation has provided me with many unique opportunities, like being involved in the planning of the 2020 Indiana Pharmacists Legislative Day at the Indiana State House and working on a leadership project that has enabled me to further develop specific career goals and highlight the strengths that I will bring to the table in whatever endeavor I pursue after graduation this May!
