Franciscan Health Opens New Outpatient Pharmacy in Crown Point
By Darren Covington on 1/19/2021
Franciscan Health opened its sixth outpatient pharmacy on November 16, 2020, joining an outpatient pharmacy in Hammond in Lake County. The pharmacy is staffed by two pharmacists and three technicians, led by Pharmacy Manager William Sahy. In addition to traditional retail services, this pharmacy will offer a fully integrated meds-to-beds program, vaccinations, MTM services, and provide an easily accessible location for Franciscan Health employees to fill their prescriptions.
Franciscan Health's Crown Point facility was the last main campus in Indiana without an outpatient pharmacy. The new pharmacy is located inside of a new facility on the campus that will eventually provide a unified space for all pharmacy services, including pharmacotherapy and anti-coagulation services. The goal behind this new facility is to break the traditional model of retail pharmacy and provide a centralized area for patients to go to for all their outpatient pharmacy needs.
IPA would like to congratulate Franciscan Health on the opening of this new facility!
